Julia Ann, the newest artist signed to the Red Room Records Label and managed by SGU Promotions and Management, has been on the music scene since she was old enough to make a sound. According to her mother Dorothy Roberts, she came into this world singing. She grew up singing in church and her love of music grew from there. She did musical theater during summer vacations fell in love with being on a stage. That merged her singing and acting. In 2014 she was on ABC's hit show Nashville. She has been blessed to grow up in the mountains of Western North Carolina with some of the best the talent the industry has to offer. Julia has featured 10 time grammy winning fiddler, Bobby Hicks, Brian Arrowood (fiddle player for Travis Tritt), Clay Jones (formerly of Mountain Heart), and the Darrell Webb Band in her bluegrass perfomances. She has opened for multi platinum singer songwriter John Wiggins, shared a stage with SPBGMA's Guitar Player of The Year Josh Williams, and many, many more Bluegrass/Country greats! She has received several awards throughout her career, but her most recent include a 2011 IMBA Female Vocalist of the Year (draft nomination) and the Keith Whitley Fingerprint On Music Torch Award nomination. She performs all over the Southeast USA. In 2009 Julia, along with the "Volunteer String Band", played the TN State Fair on the Billy Block stage. She played Pick's on Music Row during CMA Fan Fair. Julia was featured on the Cooper & Co Morning Show in Alabama as well as the King Pup Radio Show. Her songs are played on WTOE, WMMH, WAAK 94.7FM, BlastFM, and The Blacksheep Network. She is no stranger to the grand ballroom stage of the largest indoor bluegrass festival in the nation. Bluegrass First Class is produced & promoted by founding father of the IBMA, Milton Harkey. This talented songstress is very active member of "FAN" (Families Against Narcotics) and is a leader in her community, speaking out in the local schools and youth groups as an advocate against drug abuse. Julia is very proud of her accomplishments in life but considers her greatest accomplishment to be when she FINALLY defeated cancer (after 24 procedures in a 10 year stretch) a little over 10 years ago. There is so much more to know about this emerging artist/actress than space will allow so: drop her a line, leave her a comment or simply ask her a question. This friendly, southern beauty is always happy to talk to a friend! We hope to see you at a show real soon, and DON'T FORGET to request her on your local radio station!
